The Distiller

A Fruitful Idea

Hans Reisetbauer is a distiller, fruit-grower, farmer, forester, machine-builder and traveller. And this is the story of his brandies:

1990

Hans Reisetbauer plants an apple orchard of 1.5 hectares at Kirchdorfergut. He makes some 50 litres of schnapps a year for his private use.

1991

On the south-facing slope below his farm, Reisetbauer plants a row plus ten 10 Williams pear-trees.

1994

In the spring, Reisetbauer visits the Vinova Trade Fair in Vienna and becomes acquainted with distillates made by Karl Hubert Gasser of the Quinta Essentia Group. Reisetbauer has an idea.

1994

On 16 September, Christian Carl of Göppingen, Germany, builds a still at Kirchdorfergut on plans by Hans Reisetbauer.

1995

Hans Reisetbauer’s Williams Brandy and Dried Pear Brandy are chosen as “Schnapps of the Year” at the Destillata specialist trade fair.

1998

The Reisetbauer distillery is named company of the year.

2001

Hans Reisetbauer becomes a member of the Quinta Essentia Group.

2003

For the second time, Hans Reisetbauer is named Master Distiller of 2004 by the Austrian gourmet guide A la Carte.

2006

For the third time, Hans Reisetbauer is named Master Distiller of 2007 by the Austrian gourmet guide A la Carte.

2006

Hans Reisetbauer is awarded the “Trophée Gourmet A la Carte” in the category “Gourmandise”.

2006

Hans Reisetbauer and Markus Schenkenfelder market the first Austrian gin: BLUE GIN (www.bluegin.cc).

2007

For the fourth time, Hans Reisetbauer is named Master Distiller of 2008 by the Austrian gourmet guide A la Carte.

2007

Hans Reisetbauer plants his first rowanberry orchard in Upper Austria’s Mühlviertel district.

2008

Hans Reisetbauer markets his first 12-year-old single malt whisky.

2008

For the fifth time, Hans Reisetbauer is named Master Distiller of 2009 by the Austrian gourmet guide A la Carte.

2009

Hans Reisetbauer’s brandies are available in 21 varieties and various special bottlings in 16 countries of the world.
